You know you’re running errands around the city, work errands to be precise, and you realise that you’re echoing the city’s personality. Bangalore is in a self-assured and sophisticated space as far as fashion is concerned and is largely casual and chic- walking the line between both fashion and functionality.
I find a very comfortable place for myself in the summer sun. What I once insouciantly dismissed as tablecloth print has now found a very amiable space in my wardrobe and I’m not sure if i’m willing to let go of it yet. While the time is still ripe, I’m just going help myself with all the square checks I can muster.
Spending half my days travelling in cabs has left me space for a lingering imagination. Hence I’ve resorted to spoiling myself rotten with images of narrow cobbled streets, Italian balconies and bougainvilleas hanging off stone walls. I’d love to be anywhere in Italy right now- the sleepy Sicilian seaside or marveling at the sheer artistic beauty of the Trevi fountain.
I’ve noticed a repetitive pattern when I shop- brick & mortar or online- I add the same kind of products in my shopping bag/ cart. Lots and lots of basics. I’ve realised that a trend cannot steer forward if you don’t have your basics in place. Besides the classic crisp white shirt and the little black dress, there are host of other essentials that do fabulously well both individually and as layering pieces- any season or any time of the day.
