Well, I did. A half an hour’s drive from home later, I found him at Fava, UB City waiting to greet me with warm hugs. I might have definitely needed an extra bit of warmth on a balmy day in August.
I was introduced to him by Jamie Walker, Johnnie Walker’s brand ambassador and delicious cocktail-maker. The latter title is what I call him because he whisked me up some great cocktails one after the other while constantly reminding me to #DrinkResponsibly.
Allow me to introduce you, therefore, to Johnnie Ginger- the star of the evening. The bold (and soothing) flavors of the Johnnie Walker Red Label coupled with ginger ale make this a great drink to be enjoyed with friends and family. It’s relaxed as much as it is refined. I also find it walking the line between being both fun and sophisticated. Jamie taught me a few tricks to make the perfect Johnnie Ginger cocktail. And as per usual, I added some cherries at the bottom and garnished it with some orange wedges and aptly named it- Wild Thoughts, A Six Inches Of Pleasure Specialty.
Jamie was was kind enough to keep checking up on us, just in case there weren’t enough Johnnie Gingers on the table. Must I also give a special mention to the food that kept coming to our table. Grilled prawns to a live micro green salad and pomegranate chicken for mains, everything that came in was met with a ‘Yum!’ exclamation. I was surrounded with a bunch of great people and conversations flowed like an overflowing river.
