If somehow this is the first time you read of my praises for Toscano’s exceptional food and their impressive wine list, then I will elucidate that it still stands as my most favorite Italian restaurant in the city. Dotted along Bengaluru’s Soho precint like Lavelle Road, Jayanagar, Whitefield and Rajajinagar, Toscano is aglow with soul food and an unmistakable Italian pizzeria vibe inspired by chef and owner extraordinaire Gautham’s vision of offering a fine dining experience within a casual and intimate atmosphere and a friendly price range.
When you’re really just concerned about the confused weather (read: Bangalore weather), slash a shoulder off and keep the rest. It’s 2017, which means its deconstructed shirt season. And here, shirts are anything but conventional. And the trousers are cropped, obviously!
You know you’re running errands around the city, work errands to be precise, and you realise that you’re echoing the city’s personality. Bangalore is in a self-assured and sophisticated space as far as fashion is concerned and is largely casual and chic- walking the line between both fashion and functionality.
Well, I did. A half an hour’s drive from home later, I found him at Fava, UB City waiting to greet me with warm hugs. I might have definitely needed an extra bit of warmth on a balmy day in August.
